With your support we can help more people in need in today.

August 19, 2016

Dear Community Partners,

Each year as kids go back to school, they face new challenges. Sometimes those challenges come because of their families not being able to afford school supplies.  As a result, this leads to kids being bullied, lower grades, and a lack of self-confidence.  With your help we can make sure these kids go back to school with confidence and a smile.

We here at The Salvation Army are in desperate need of your help.  We are a week away from our Back 2 School Distribution and have currently received no backpacks or binders. We also are in need of many of the items that fill the backpacks as well.

How can you help?  By spreading the word to your neighbors, friends, employees, co-workers etc.  You can also help by purchasing a backpack, binder, or other school supplies and dropping them off at 515 NE Dekalb Ave. Bend, OR 97701.  We are also accepting monetary donations and are more than willing to do the shopping for you.

It is our goal to make sure that each child who comes to us for help receives a backpack, supplies, and confidence as they are able to obtain items that are needed for success in the classroom.

Blessings in Christ,

Captain Rachel Johnson

We support kids' educational opportunities through a variety of programs.

Our first priority is to meet basic human needs, but we recognize the importance of programs that go beyond the basics of food, shelter, clothing and safety. In addition to meeting basic needs, The Salvation Army strives to provide programs that will help children thrive during crucial developmental years - from after school programs and summer camps, to childcare and toys at Christmas.
